AHU is getting a re-skin. not just a re-skin, but an entire retconned story-line, although the only mentioned moments of the story happen via character biographies, the point still stands.
when i first started the idea of the All Heroes Unite story-line back when i was 15 years old, i wanted to envision the ultimate crossover of children shows starting with the 4 nicktoons of the early 2000's with inspiration drawn from every source of entertainment you could think of from star wars, call of duty, battlefield, alien vs predator, command and conquer, transformers(non-michael bay) and the list goes on. as i got older, the story couldn't get past its brainstorming point, unless you counted all the copy/paste biographies i slapped on to the characters in order to pump out as many characters into the story-line as i possibly could to the point where i lost track of all the lore and went on without it. in all honesty i wasn't bright or as creative back then as i claim to be now.
so the changes that will happen: i will do a complete re-skin of all the character bios, instead of the copy/paste assembly line production style ive done previously, im going to flesh out their individual stories carefully, and make sure no story contradicts one another. I will promise to make sure that these characters retain a form of familiarity to what show they came from, whether they are memorable or not, and make sure that who they become is of reasonable and slow due process fashion for the sake of character development. also to make the suspension of disbelief easier for the reader, i won't allow the weapons to be of any familiar weapon used today, but in a particular futuristic concept that is best relevant to the direction i wanted to take the stories. when i layed the bedrock of the three known factions the weapons and vehicles would be american for the nationals, british for the continentals, and german for the imperials, but because of what other forms of tech one would read about in just the bios alone -like Jimmy and Dexter's iron-man inspired power armor sets being a good example- it makes the modern technologies seem out of place and would-have been phased out a long time ago given the potential of the engineering capabilities of both kids, and was honestly the lazy part of the whole universe it took place in. also im discontinuing the civilians sector of the series, as i don't need to write how everyone in every single universe each character came from is dealing with their favorite person in life getting themselves hurt and traumatized in a war they cant comprehend, not to mention ive already added up to atleast 70+ characters to fight as a pro-detur-an-tagonist in it's universe, so imagine the difficulties of pulling a tolkien on writing every single back story to the minor characters when it could be all up to the readers imagination and save me the time and effort in order to write a better more fleshed out core story and set of character bios. on the other hand though, i am keeping the fairlyoddparents characters saved in the folder, just because you don't see many sims versions of cartoon characters now adays; then again i could just put one of those types out as just a hobby during my spare time when im both off work and in the middle of publishing a portion of the story, but no guarantees.
ive been looking up the Internets most popular critics to hear what they believe makes a great story, such critics include: mysteriousmrenter, watchmojo.com when they do their top 10's, phantomstrider, angry joe, zero-punctuation, and even the nostalgia critic himself. they taught me how to avoid the worst of what pop culture can provide and create something more innovative or just a spin off of what is already there but done right to where it becomes memorable. so in conclusion, NO AHU is definitely NOT DEAD; in fact it will be better than ever when i get the time to fix everything i couldn't before.
